One of the most common questions we get before a transfer is not about price, vehicle brand, or travel time. It’s much simpler — and much more practical:
Will all our luggage actually fit?
On paper, the answer often looks straightforward. Car manufacturers list trunk volumes, booking platforms show vehicle photos, and everything seems clear. In reality, luggage planning is rarely that simple.
After thousands of airport and long-distance transfers across Serbia and the region, we’ve learned that luggage fit depends on many small details: suitcase shape, hard vs soft shells, strollers, ski bags, pet transport boxes, and one thing we never compromise on — safety and interior protection.
At Serbia Transfers, we operate premium transfers. That means luggage must fit securely, without forcing, stacking on seats, or risking damage. Hard suitcases never go on seats, on the passenger floor, or on someone’s lap. Only soft hand items — backpacks, handbags, laptop bags — may occasionally be kept inside the cabin.
If you are ever unsure, our agents are available before and after booking. You can send us photos of your luggage, and we can send you photos of the trunk. Our chauffeurs, who load luggage every day, are very good at estimating what realistically works. When there is any doubt, choosing a slightly larger vehicle is always the safest and most comfortable option.
Most travelers carry some variation of the same suitcase sizes:
Carry-on suitcases, medium suitcases, and large suitcases are familiar to everyone. Problems usually arise when we add items that don’t behave like suitcases — strollers, ski bags, oversized wheeled sports bags, pet boxes, or bicycles.
From our operational point of view, all of these items are treated as real luggage. They take space, they must be secured, and they influence which vehicle class is appropriate.
One thing we explain clearly to all clients: we maintain a premium interior standard across our fleet.
This is why suitcases are not placed on seats or in the passenger area. Hard edges can damage leather, trim, and interior panels, and unsecured luggage can become a safety risk during sudden braking.
This approach is not about being strict — it’s about delivering a clean, safe, and professional experience for every passenger.
If there is one item that causes last-minute confusion, it’s a child stroller.
Many parents understandably assume a stroller is “small enough.” In practice, depending on the model, a stroller can take up as much space as a large suitcase — sometimes more.
That’s why we always ask for strollers to be declared in advance. Compact strollers are usually manageable in sedans with limited luggage, while full-size strollers often change the entire luggage calculation. For families traveling with several suitcases and a stroller, vans are usually the least stressful solution.
Economy Taxi vehicles are ideal for light travel.
In real-world conditions, they comfortably handle one large suitcase and a carry-on or backpack. Sometimes, depending on the shape, a small additional soft bag can fit, but this is not something we plan around.
If you are traveling with more than one large suitcase, Economy Taxi is usually not the right choice.
Comfort Taxi offers more flexibility, but it still has limits.
In everyday transfers, the safest configuration is one large suitcase and one medium suitcase, with space left for hand luggage. Two large suitcases can fit, but this often becomes tight and leaves little room for anything else.
Comfort Taxi works well for standard travel, but it should not be overloaded.

Black Limo vehicles, especially the Škoda Superb with five doors, are among the most practical sedans we operate.
Thanks to the wide opening and hatch-style access, luggage loading is significantly easier than in traditional sedans. In practice, Black Limo comfortably handles three large suitcases and one medium suitcase while keeping everything properly secured.
This class is popular with travelers who want a business-level service without worrying about tight luggage constraints.

Mercedes E-Class is designed primarily for business travelers.
It offers excellent ride comfort and a professional appearance, but luggage flexibility is more limited than many people expect. The trunk opening is narrower, and the layout is less forgiving than in five-door vehicles.
For this reason, E-Class is best suited for professionals traveling to meetings, not for families or tourists with heavy luggage.

Standard vans are the most flexible solution we offer.
They handle large luggage volumes with ease, making them ideal for families, ski trips, oversized items, and transfers where comfort and space matter more than vehicle size.

Mercedes V-Class focuses on passenger comfort rather than cargo volume.
While it offers a premium interior, luggage space is more limited than in standard vans. It works best for groups with light to moderate luggage, not for bulky combinations.

Our economy minibuses (Iveco Daily) offer generous luggage space, often more than luxury alternatives. Trailers are available upon request for large luggage volumes.
Luxury minibuses (Mercedes Sprinter) prioritize passenger seating. Luggage space is limited, usually accommodating small suitcases under seats and overhead storage. For larger luggage sets, a trailer is strongly recommended.
The S-Class is built for executive comfort, discretion, and smooth travel.
Despite its size, luggage space is surprisingly limited due to the narrow trunk opening and fixed layout. In practice, its luggage capacity is similar to Comfort Taxi — and sometimes even more restrictive.
It is an outstanding vehicle for business travel, but not a practical choice for large or bulky luggage combinations.
SUVs offer a very real luggage advantage.
The height of the cargo area allows suitcases to be stacked vertically, which often means more usable space than in a standard sedan. This makes SUVs a strong choice for mixed luggage, strollers, and winter travel.
All our sedans are equipped with ski hatches, allowing ski bags to pass through the rear armrest opening.
If a ski bag fits through the hatch, rear seating remains usable. If not, seats must be folded, reducing passenger capacity. For winter routes such as transfers from Belgrade to Kopaonik, SUVs and vans are often the most practical choice.
Bicycles and very large items can only be transported in standard vans, often with seats removed. This must be declared in advance and involves additional handling.
Pet transport boxes are treated as luggage in terms of space and safety.
Pets are allowed only in Economy Taxi, Comfort Taxi, and standard vans, exclusively in proper transport boxes. This must always be declared in advance, as only a limited number of vehicles are designated for pet transport due to additional cleaning and disinfection procedures.
To maintain a premium hygiene standard, pet transport is not permitted in Black Limo, Premium, VIP, or Mercedes V-Class vehicles.
Situations where luggage does not fit safely are rare, but they can happen.
When this occurs, the chauffeur will first check whether luggage can be reorganized in a safe way. With the client’s consent, soft items such as clothing may be temporarily redistributed to allow proper placement of hard suitcases. This has happened only a handful of times over many years of daily operations.
If safe loading is still not possible, we look for the most practical solution. This may involve sending an additional vehicle, arranging an external taxi for part of the luggage, or, in extreme cases, applying standard cancellation terms if the transfer cannot proceed. These scenarios are very uncommon, but transparency is important.
This is exactly why declaring luggage accurately in advance saves time, stress, and unnecessary costs.
